Namma Veettu Pillai Review - First Day Reports

Namma Veettu Pillai is a Tamil comedy, family entertainer directed by Pandiraj, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Aishwarya Rajesh, Anu Emmanuel and Soori in main roles.

Namma Veettu Pillai is another usual movie with all the signature trademarks and genre that can be seen in a Pandiraj film. Namma Veetti Pillai talks about a big family that includes Sivakarthiyan and his family. As a brother who loves his sister more than anything and the same for his sister, their brother-sister bond stands high, as said in one of the songs, this could be alligned to a New-gen Pasa Malar. Sivakarthikeyan as the brother and Aishwarya Rajesh as his sister was a brilliant casting. Their on-screen chemistry looked fantastic. The other casts like Natarajan, Bharathiraja did their part neatly. 

The movie started in a funny manner slowly changes the contrast, The movie portrays the family problems that will arise when a particular scenario happens as movie. Here, the life of Brother, Sister goes differently than they planned and how he deals with is the story. 

The movie offers emotions and laughter equally. Soori is in his full form, also it needs to be mentioned about that boy who appears as Soori’s son. His one-liners made the whole theatre laugh.

Anu Emmanuel did a good job in the movie. her combination scenes with Sivakarthikeyan were nice. Especially in the song Mailanji.

Yes, about the songs, need to mention it as one of the best of 2019. The music director Imman produced another level songs and some heart touching BGMs in Namma Veettu Pillai. Each and every songs in the movie was beautiful. Also it was pictured excellently. The cinematography, stunts, all looks fine. The editing could have been improved

The drawbacks of the movie are, The flashback portions is a speed breaker. Even though, the performance of Samuthirakani during that portions was nice, it was not that engaging. We saw this genre many times. So there’s nothing new in the movie.

Namma Veettu Pillai is a family entertainer, watch and enjoy the movie with your family, this has lot of scenes which tells about the importance of family values. The kids and women are gonna like this. When you have an entertainer like Sivakarthikeyan, the movie like NVP will work out big time.
