Hero Review - First Day Reports

Hero is a 2019 Tamil action thriller directed by P.S. Mithran, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Arjun, Abhay Deol and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead roles.

Sivakarthikeyan as Sakthi and Arjun as Moorthy were the pillars of Hero. Sivakarthikeyan, he started as a normal hero, later changed to superhero who fight against the corrupted education system. This is a different attempt from Sivakarthikeyan and he is so keen in doing social relevant subjects. He is stylish and as usual utilized his screen presence well. He proves that he is always a right choice for a movie like Hero which has right mix of commercial, emotion and social relevance. Arjun had equal opportunity or may be more than that of SK’s character to perform, and he did a fabulous job in many scenes. Abhay Deol appeared as a business monster Mahadev. His performance was good, but not to perform more though. Kalyani Priyadarshan, another promising actress for Tamil cinema. She got a perfect debut in Tamil. She was impressive and gave a cute performance. Ivana, the game changer of Hero, she got a good role. Her combination scenes with Siva came out well.

Yuvan Shankar Raja‘s recent best work, and gave superb Background scores that is apt for each and every scenes of the movie. He gave a good feel to the mass and emotional scenes with his BGMs. The cinematography was another major highlight. George C Williams stunned as with his magical angles and stylish shots. All the technical department did a good work.

A big applauds to the creator P.S. Mithran. It is evident that he did lot of research to make this movie and the movie portrays lot of facts and current scenario in the society. Hero just felt like another Shankar styled movie. It was a good move referring to one of his movie. There are some fictional scenarios and some hard to believe scenes. Marketed as a commercial movie, but is more than a commercial movie. The superhero presence in the movie helped the movie content to remain strong. The whole idea is conveyed well and that resulted a must watch social relevant family movie.
