COMALI is an entertaining as well as a social relevant movie written and directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. The movie revolves around the 35 year life of a person called Ravi who unfortunately lost a 16 years of his life by an accident.
The movie is made in a funny manner. Especially the combination of Yogi Babu and Jayam Ravi made it. Through out the film, it make us aware about out past and present life and how we changed to this digital era. The plot and idea of Comali is new to Tamil Cinema and it was a good experience. Directly and indirectly, the movie tells us a lot.
Jayam Ravi is an actor who continuously do different genre movies and experiment the subjects which anyone haven’t did yet. So it will be always a nice experience to watch his movies, the same for Comali too, he perfectly performed that character. The emotional sequences were nice, the whole climax portion was amazing. As the movie says. It’s a proof that “Humans didn’t changed”. This time more than a comedian Yogi Babu got a superb performance oriented movie. Even though there was no major role for Kajal Aggarwal to do, she performed her portions well. The Making and the frames was exceptional. All the crew member gave their best output. Hip Hop Tamizha‘s songs and BGMs were another highlight.
The movie is entertaining to the core and gives us a good message. As the technologies develop, Humans become less active, social and live a stressful life, and it will be more visible to a character like Ravi in Comali. Take your family and kids, they will enjoy this film nicely.
Positives and Negatives
- Jayam Ravi and Yogi Babu combinations.
- Story, Direction and the message.
- Cinematography, Songs and BGM
- Climax portion.
- Comedy and Emotional scenes.
- Kajal Aggarwal, as an actress didn't had anything to do more
- The role of KS Ravikumar as a villain was not that powerful.
- The screenplay felt rushed, some portions looks like incomplete.
- Some of the love portions could have been avoided
