Sara’S is a 2021 Family, Entertainer, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and written by Akshay Hareesh. The movie has a star cast of Anna Ben, Sunny Wayne, Benny P Nayarambalam, Mallika Sukumaran and others.
Sara’S is the story of an aspiring filmmaker Sara (Anna Ben), who is currently an assistant director in Malayalam cinema and aim to shoot her first movie. She did a lot of hard work and researches for her script. After finishing the script, Sara was in search of a producer to finance her movie. As she is a woman, she had to go through many more hurdles than other men in the industry to accomplish her dream. Meantime Sara is in a relationship with Jeevan (Sunny Wayne), with whom she got acquainted when visiting his sister as part of the movie research. Even though they were planning to marry after accomplishing their goals, they got married due to their parent’s compel. The rest of the movie shows whether Sara fulfiled her dreams and how she handled an issue that forced her to stop directing her first movie.
Sara’S mainly highlight one of the major issue faced by women to achieve their dreams. Unlike men, women face more struggles when it comes to pursuing their interesting jobs or dream. Most of the time, her parents, husband or family don’t support her. She is getting forced to forget her dreams and prisoned in a house after the marriage and pregnancy. The movie well conveys that women have all the right to decide important decisions like marriage, pregnancy in their life. It is only their decision to accept a pregnancy and child. Some fields like the film industry, sports used to considered as men dominant areas. Most of the talented women were not even allowed to dream about these fields. Sara’S is a portrayal of the change in our society and remind us to adapt to this change even more by giving women the freedom and authority to decide on many important things.
Anna Ben as Sara was a perfect lead. She handled the character nicely. Her performance was bold and natural. But in some scenes, it felt she was too young for the role. Sunny Wayne as Jeevan was fabulous. He had good timing and remained calm throughout. Benny P Nayarambalam as Sara’s dad was surprising. He is Anna Ben’s real dad. The chemistry when the father and daughter act together on screen was amazing. Rest all the casts like the kids, Dhanya Varma, Mallika Sukumaran and others were amazing. The song by Shaan Rahman was Okay but could have been even better. All the other technical departments like Cinematography, Editing were good.
Akshay Hareesh‘s script deserves appreciation. It conveys a good message to the viewers. We had many women empowerment movies and post-marital life of Women. Sara’S almost follow the same scenarios in many scenes, but this movie is focused more on conveying the solution. We can only feel positivity from the film. Still, there are some cliche scenes that could have avoided. The viewers also could easily predict the next scene. Jude Anthany Joseph, who always make successful movies, repeats his success with Sara’S. The film is made perfectly, with some compromises on the screenplay. As usual, Sara’s also have many fun elements you can expect from a Jude Anthany Joseph film. Sara’S is a watchable family entertainer.
