Helen Review - First Day Reports

Helen is a Malayalam survival, thriller directed by Mathukutty Xavier, written by Alfred Kurian, Noble Babu and Mathukutty Xavier, starring Anna Ben, Lal, Aju Varghese, Noble Babu Thomas. The movie is a less tried genre in Malayalam cinema. As a survival thriller, Helen is a seat edged thriller movie, which make you excited each and every second. The movie starts normally. The Kumbalangi Nights movie  starrer Anna Ben is the lead of Helen. Helen (Anna) is a Nurse who is attending IELTS training to migrate to Canada. She also works as part time in a shopping mall food court in Kochi. She lives her life happily with her father Paul (Lal). Helen is also in a relationship with Azar (Noble). The movie develop with some good comedies and towards the interval, Helen gets trapped in a place and from there, the plot changes to a tensed nature. The second half is of the survival and some stunning scenes. 

Kudos to the writers, they deserves a big appreciation. the development of the scenes is extraordinary. The movie had apt, amazing cast. Anna Ben as Helen is the right choice. With here cute smile to her dialogue delivery, all was perfect, she performed very well. In a particular sequence, even we will get freeze with her acting. Lal  got another fantastic character with Helen. His comedies was so good. Another person who stunned everyone is definitely Aju Varghese. I will say, The SI character did by him is his career best role. He proves his range and the potentials in him to be a performer, more than a comedian.

The Songs and Background score, Cinematography, Editing, all looked amazing and all the other cast did their part well. The movie is well made with engaging and thrilling screenplay, perfect duration and good direction.

Helen is a must watch in theaters and will be a good experience for all. Another remarkable movie for Malayalam cinema from the most talented producer Vineeth Srinivasan (That  Prison scene was lit!). Hats off for making this. He is still proving he is the best as a director and as a producer.
