PATHAAN Review

Pathaan is a 2023 action thriller by Siddharth Anand, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and others. Pathaan is the commencement of SPY Universe of YRF, including their previous movies Tiger series and WAR. 

Pathaan is a perfect treat and a long-awaited comeback for the Bollywood industry and King Shah Rukh Khan. It’s an engaging action thriller that continues the Spy universe of Yash Raj Films. SRK appears as a RAW agent, Pathaan, and Deepika Padukone as an ISI agent. The movie deals with a threat to the country and how intelligence tackles it to save the nation. Pathaan follows the same template and structure as other movies in this universe. However, Siddharth Anand‘s treatment makes it engaging.

The main takeaway from Pathaan is Shah Rukh Khan. He’s back with a bang and is perfectly suited for the role, excelling in the action sequences. Pathaan will be a complete treat for SRK fans as it offers a full package of entertainment. Deepika Padukone, with her charm and style, delivers an excellent performance. There’s no looking back when she’s there with some massive action sequences. John Abraham steals the show as an amazing and tough villain, which adds to the thrilling aspect of Pathaan. The rest of the cast also performs well.

While the movie has some engaging scenes with extreme action sequences, the VFX portions and art feel artificial, somewhat detracting from the overall experience. Siddharth Anand’s treatment of this typical template film makes it more interesting and delivers a blockbuster for SRK and Bollywood.

Pathaan is undoubtedly an amazing theatrical experience with some surprise elements. We would recommend understanding the character names from WAR and Tiger 1 and 2 before watching Pathaan.
